Val Poschiavo — a hidden gem!

FULLY BOOKED! An ideal hiking week for early autumn, based in a comfortable hotel in the charming, Italian-speaking town of Poschiavo with its lovely market square, historic buildings and rich cultural heritage.
Highlights
Sassal Mason with its panoramic views of the Palü glacier and Val Poschiavo; the idyllic turquoise Lake Saoseo surrounded by larches taking on their autumn colours; the glacier garden «Marmitte dei Giganti» at Cavaglia; a rocky climb to an alpine peak high above the Bernina Pass; and the mountain church of San Romerio perched on a terrace above Lago di Poschiavo.
Type of hiking
- 5 days of guided hikes (Monday to Friday), with discovery of the local flora and fauna, geology, history and culture.
- Hikes at level 3*, for experienced, surefooted hikers not suffering from vertigo; 750‒1100 m ↑↓ and 5‒6.5 hours’ walking per day (excluding breaks).
- Technical level: mostly T2 (Swiss Alpine Club grading), with some exposed sections at T3.
Meet at the hotel on the evening of Sunday 5 October.
Price and booking
Price per person: CHF 1340 (min. 5, max. 8 participants), including: 5 days’ guided hikes; 6 nights’ accommodation in twin rooms with half-board (3* hotel); free use of most local buses and trains.
Price excludes: transport (except as mentioned), insurances, picnics/lunches, drinks.
