Winter walking, Engadine

Five days of winter walking (without snow-shoes!) from a comfortable hotel base in the spectacular snowy scenery of the Engadine.

Highlights

The magical stillness of Val Fex, with its larch forests and surrounding peaks; the panorama from Muottas Muragl, high above the wintry lake landscape of the Engadine; the quiet forest paths of Val Roseg (and encounters with its birds); the Morteratsch Glacier trail taking us to the tongue of this receding glacier.

Type of hiking

• 5 days of guided hikes (Monday to Friday), explore magical winter landscapes and the secret winter worlds of plants, animals and snow.
• Hikes at level 1*/2*, for enthusiastic hikers on reasonably good form. Up to 600 m up and down and between 3 and 5 hours of walking (excluding breaks) each day. Shorter hike on final day.

Meet in Pontresina on the evening of Sunday 28 January.

Price and booking

Price per person: CHF 1270 (min. 6, max. 10 participants), including: 5 days’ guided hikes; 5 nights’ accommodation in twin rooms (3* superior hotel); half-board; hotel sauna; free entry to Bellavita spa and swimming pool; free use of most local buses and trains.

Price excludes: transport (except as mentioned), insurances, picnics/lunches, drinks.

Please allow about 40–45 francs for possible use of the mountain lifts.
