Five days of winter walking (without snow-shoes!) from a boutique hotel base in the spectacular snowy scenery of the Engadine. Guided by David Erard.

Highlights

The magical stillness of Val Fex, with its larch forests and surrounding peaks; the panorama from Muottas Muragl, high above the wintry lake landscape of the Engadine; the quiet forest paths of Val Roseg (and encounters with its birds); the Morteratsch Glacier trail taking us to the tongue of this receding glacier.

Type of hiking

  • 5 days of guided hikes (Wednesday to Sunday), explore magical winter landscapes and the secret winter worlds of plants, animals and snow.
  • Hikes at level 1*/2*, for enthusiastic hikers on reasonably good form. Up to 600 m up and down and between 3 and 5 hours of walking (excluding breaks) each day. Shorter hike on final day.

Meet in Pontresina on the evening of Tuesday 20th of January.
