Springtime in Zug!
Friday 18 April - Monday 21 April
Take a break over the long Easter weekend.to discover the green countryside, lake landscapes and blossoming cherry trees of Canton Zug! Four days of hiking, two itinerant and two from our base close to Zug lakeside.
Highlights
Rolling hills, traditional farms and long views over tranquil Lake Ägeri; Zug’s historic old town and lakeside promenade; the spectacular Höllgrotten caves with their impressive stalactite formations; the panoramic view from the top of the Zugerberg, extending to the foothills of the Alps; and the famous cherry blossoms.
Type of hiking
- 4 days of guided hikes, with discovery of the local flora and fauna, geology, history and culture.
- Hikes at level 2*/3*, for hikers on reasonably good form; max. 700 m ↑↓ and 4–5.5 hours’ walking per day (excluding breaks). Shorter hike on final day.
- Technical level: a mix of T1and T2 (Swiss Alpine Club grading).
- Need to carry rucksack with clothes, picnics and overnight kit for the first two days.
Meet in Unterägeri on the morning of Friday 18 April.
Price and booking
Price per person: CHF 790 (min. 6, max. 10 participants), including: 4 days’ guided hikes; 3 nights’ accommodation in twin rooms with half-board; entry to Höllgrotten caves.
Price excludes: transport, insurances, picnics/lunches, drinks. Please allow about 20 francs (with CFF half-fare card) for use of local public transport.
